## Questions people ask us

### When is Open Enrollment for 2027 health insurance?

In North Carolina, Open Enrollment for 2027 Marketplace coverage runs **November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027**. Enroll by **December 15** for coverage that starts January 1.

### What if I miss the deadline?

After January 15, you can only enroll or change plans if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, for example after losing other coverage, moving, marrying or having a baby.

### Does working with an agent cost more?

No. There's no fee to you, and your premium is the same as enrolling on HealthCare.gov yourself. Agents are paid by the insurance company.

### What if I just let my plan auto-renew?

You may be renewed automatically, but your premium, network or financial help can change for 2027. A quick review makes sure you're not paying more than you need to.

### What should I have ready?

An estimate of your household income for 2027, everyone's date of birth, and a list of your doctors and prescriptions. For the application we'll also need Social Security numbers for the people applying.

### Can I get help paying for coverage?

Many households qualify for a premium tax credit based on income and household size. We'll estimate yours during your review.

### I'm turning 65 soon. Is this for me?
